Ford Sierra XR4i 3 Door
FORD SIERRA XR4i, covered just 119,000 miles finished in Black. These cars are getting extremely rear to find so this is a great opportunity to indulge in a bit of 80's nostalgia.
With beautiful gold BBS style alloys which set the stance of the car to look gorgeous.
"As a kid" I always thought these cars looked like they were doing 100mph stood still !
With the lovely 2.8 fuel injection engine and the double rear window which is believed to be inspired by Porsche.
The Sierra eventually caught the the public's imagination, helped in no part by the boisterous XR4i. The big winged over-sized hot hatch was the first of the performance- orientated Sierra's. It went on sale along side the identically engined and slightly quicker Capri injection. In terms of price, it fought more sophisticated rivals such as the Audi Coupe. But it's fuel injected V6 guaranteed easy performance.
The production of the XR4i run from 1983 and ended in 1985, meaning it had a short-lived two-year run. So this means that there was not many of these car made, 25,662 to be precise so the XR4i is becoming extremely rare. In fact there is only 6 taxed XR4i's and 50 currently sorn in the UK today. We think this car is one of the unsung/forgotten hero's of the 1980's and should not be swapped under the carpet !
The XR4i might not have the same legendary status as the Cosworth, but it deserves far more respect than it gets. It was fast, fun, and ahead of its time in the 1980's, with a V6 soundtrack that still puts a smile on your face today.
We believe this car has been dry stored for the last 13 years as the last MOT EXPIRED - 24/02/2012, but as this car was registered 07/03/1985 its over 40 years old and is now MOT exempt.
This XR4i has had a restoration at some point in its life as there is welding marks underneath. As it has been dry stored for 13 years any service history has been lost and we only have the currant V5 and a few bills. The car has only had 8 owners which if you do the maths that means on average each owner has owned the car for 5 years which is 2 more years than people own cars today. The car runs and drives great, in fact I have been using the car as it is great fun and takes me back to my youth.
PLEASE REMEMBER this car is 40 years old and in need of a light restoration so please don't come and see it thinking its in the condition of a 2 year old car, please expect to see a 40 year old car !
Because this cars is in current need of a light restoration we are selling it as a light project vehicle. I have reduced the price to reflect that.
